Maison des artistes visuels francophones
Appel de soumission de projets pour l’année de programmation 2013-2014

Mandat artistique : La Maison des artistes visuels francophones (MDA) est un centre d’artistes en art actuel œuvrant avec la communauté francophone du Manitoba, la communauté francophone élargie et toutes les instances qui interagissent avec elles. Elle soutient la diffusion d’œuvres dans toutes les disciplines par des expositions, des échanges, des ateliers et des résidences d’artistes. Elle offre un soutien particulier aux artistes émergents dans la présentation de leurs premières expositions, et un cadre adapté pour les propositions d’artistes plus établis et pour les commissaires. Elle s’appuie sur un dialogue critique dans l’orientation de sa programmation et de ses projets. À travers le réseautage et les partenariats, la Maison des artistes encourage l’ouverture aux formes d’expression venues d’ailleurs pour dynamiser la communauté. Pour promouvoir la professionnalisation de ses membres, elle organise des formations et des causeries.
Vous êtes invités à soumettre une proposition d’exposition en art actuel pour l’année de programmation 2013-2014.
Critères de soumissions :
• avoir une formation spécialisée dans le domaine ou être reconnu par ses pairs ou être artiste émergent en art contemporain ou commissaire avec un projet à soumettre
• avoir la capacité de communiquer en français

Documents à soumettre :
• démarche artistique
•  description du projet d’exposition
•  un maximum de 15 exemples de travaux récents sur CD ou DVD
•  liste détaillée du matériel d’appui (titre, médium, dimension, date)
•  un curriculum vitae à jour (maximum 3 pages)
•  dossier de presse (facultatif)
•  une enveloppe de retour suffisamment affranchie (faute de retour 
de dossier)
Aucune soumission ne sera acceptée sans le matériel d’appui requis.

Les expositions seront sélectionnées par un jury selon le mérite artistique, tout en respectant le mandat de la MDA.

Le temps est venu encore une fois cette année de soumettre vos films et vos oeuvres en vidéo, à la radio et sur les nouveaux médias pour le 13e festival annuel du film et des arts médiatiques imagineNATIVE. Cette année, le festival se déroule du 17 au 21 octobre 2012 à Toronto, Canada. imagineNATIVE est un festival international qui célèbre les dernières oeuvres du peuple autochtone à la fine pointe de la technologie du film, de la vidéo, de la radio et des nouveaux médias. À chaque automne, le festival présente une sélection des oeuvres autochtones les plus convaincants et uniques du Canada et des quatre coins du globe. Les oeuvres admisent reflètent la diversité des Premières Nations de partout dans le monde et illustrent la vitalité et l’excellence de notre art et de notre culture dans les médias contemporains.

Si vous prévoyez vous inscrire, laissez-nous le savoir!Envoyez un courriel à Daniel Northway-Frank, directeur de la programmation et de l’industrie, programming [arobas] imaginenative [point] org. À la ligne d’« objet » du courriel, entrez « Tracking 2012 – » suivi du titre de votre oeuvre. Le courriel doit contenir votre nom et votre adresse courriel, ainsi que le titre, la longueur, le type (film-vidéo, radio ou nouveaux médias) et le genre (documentaire, drame, vidéo expérimentale, musique, animation) de votre oeuvre. Ceci nous aide à suivre votre oeuvre et à effectuer le suivi si nous ne recevons pas votre inscription.
VEUILLEZ NOTER : La date limite des inscription sans frais est le 1er juin 2012. Les inscriptions après le ler juin sont sujettes à des frais de service de 25 $CAN et les formulaires doivent être soumis en ligne avec une carte de crédit valide par l’intermédiaire de la page PayPal d’imagineNATIVE. CONDITIONS D’ADMISSIBILITÉ DES FILMS-VIDEOS
(voir le site Web pour les détails concernant l’admissibilité de la radio et des nouveaux médias) :
imagineNATIVE évalue les oeuvres sur film, sur vidéo, à la radio et sur les nouveaux médias (sur le Web) faits par les Premières Nations au Canada et à l’international. Le festival tâche de représenter une diversité d’idées, de thèmes et de genres dans sa programmation. Le festival donne la priorité à des oeuvres qui savent équilibrer le contenu unique, la pertinence culturelle et sociale, et une approche créative de la forme caractérisée par une expression novatrice, un style distinct, et une vision personnelle. Nous accordons la priorité aux oeuvres qui n’ont pas encore été diffusées au Canada ou sur Internet. Le statut de première internationale ou de première canadienne est également une considération. Les informations de presse, les reportages étendus, les magazines télévisuels, et les émissions ou les segments d’information (comme les messages d’intérêt public) ne sont pas éligibles.

Les séries dramatiques ou documentaires dirigées et produites par des entreprises de production des Premières Nations peuvent soumettre des programmes et des épisodes à la Médiathèque du festival, une vidéothèque rassemblant, sur place, tous les travaux soumis au Festival, que les distributeurs de l’industrie, les diffuseurs et programmateurs visionnent pour des besoins d’acquisition et de programmation.

REMARQUE : Les séries TV ne sont pas présentées publiquement lors du festival et ne sont pas éligibles aux prix.

RÈGLES :
imagineNATIVE présente les oeuvres créées par un membre des Premières Nations dans une rôle actif de création comme directeur, auteur ou producteur.
Les films doivent avoir été créés à partir du 1er janvier 2010.
Tous les films qui ne sont pas en anglais doivent avoir des sous-titres anglais à l’écran ou une transcription anglaise pour les programmeurs.
Les aperçus et les extraits ne doivent contenir aucun espace annonce ou publicité du diffuseur.
Chaque film doit avoir ses propres copies de projection (2) et son formulaire d’inscription. Nous n’acceptons pas les compilations.
Nouveau ! Nous encourageons les participants à fournir un lien de projection en ligne (privé et protégé par mot de passe sur Vimeo ou sur YouTube), en plus des DVD, pour que l’équipe de production puissent le visionner. Ceci est fortement encouragé si vous soumettez votre oeuvre après la date limite sans frais du 1er juin.
Nous n’acceptons pas les formulaires d’inscription illisibles ou inachevés.
La date limite pour toutes les inscription est le 15 juin 2012, mais si votre travail n’est pas prêt (par exemple, premier montage) à être visionné pour le 15 juin et que vous souhaitez vous inscrire au festival cette année, veuillez contacter programming [arobas] imagineNATIVE [point] org

Les inscriptions tardives doivent comprendre des formulaires en lignes et des paquets contenant les DVD frappés du timbre postal au plus tard le 15 juin. DÉTAILS D’EXPÉDITION :
NE PAS expédier les vidéos au Canada par UPS (United Parcel Service) puisque vous pourriez être responsable des droits de douane, que le festival ne couvre pas, et vos DVD vous seront renvoyés.
NE PAS envoyer CR, car le paquet NE sera PAS accepté.
NE PAS envoyer les inscriptions dans des enveloppes remplies de fibres, parce que la poussière peut endommager les projecteurs et l’équipement de visionnement.

Appel de textes pour esse no 77, dossier Indignation

Ce numéro se veut d’abord l’écho des bouleversements sociaux et politiques qui ont pris forme depuis 2011 et que rien, d’ailleurs, ne semble vouloir essouffler. Le « Printemps arabe » en est un déclencheur avec tous ces pays, à commencer par la Tunisie, dont les peuples se sont insurgés, dans la rue contre des gouvernements tyranniques et autoritaires qu’ils ont parfois réussi à déloger du pouvoir. Ce printemps-là de 2011, sur fond de crise économique, allait voir naître aussi le mouvement des indignés qui, de ville en ville, en Espagne, aux États-Unis et au Québec entre autres, ont occupé les espaces publics pour décrier pacifiquement les inégalités sociales impunément créées par les marchés financiers avec la complicité des gouvernements. Porté par le slogan « Nous sommes le 99 % », ce mouvement qui a proliféré jusqu’à l’automne appelait à la résistance.

Dans ce contexte, qu’en est-il des artistes et de l’art ? Le Printemps arabe a-t-il contribué a considérer davantage les arts du monde arabe par l’Occident (par exemple leur plus grande représentativité à la Biennale de Venise en 2011) ? Les artistes des pays arabes en révolte, de même que ceux provenant de d’autres régimes répressifs tels la Chine ou la Russie, traitent-ils des luttes pour la démocratie dans leurs oeuvres, témoignent-ils des affrontements vécus et de leurs réalités culturelles ? Connaissent-ils un changement quant à leur droit d’expression? Quelle est l’efficacité de l’art dans de tels contextes ? Du côté de nos sociales-démocraties où la permissivité est grande, comment se joue le désir de transgresser et quels sont les nouveaux motifs de résistance de l’artiste ?

Les jeux de La Francophonie
Appel lancé aux artistes pour les Jeux de la Francophonie de 2013

FREDERICTON (GNB) – Les jeunes artistes du Nouveau-Brunswick ont l’occasion de faire partie d’Équipe Canada Nouveau-Brunswick et de participer volet culturel international des VIIes Jeux de la Francophonie, qui se tiendront à Nice, en France, du 6 au 15 septembre 2013.

« J’invite tous les jeunes artistes du Nouveau-Brunswick à participer aux concours culturels, qui constituent un volet important des Jeux », a déclaré le ministre de la Culture, du Tourisme et de la Vie saine, Trevor Holder.

« Pour les artistes du Nouveau-Brunswick, il s’agit non seulement d’une aventure culturelle, mais aussi d’une occasion de se mesurer aux autres concurrents et de faire valoir leurs talents sur la scène internationale. »

Les critères de sélection sont fondés sur la qualité du travail de l’artiste, et la compétition est ouverte à tous les Néo-Brunswickois. La date limite pour présenter sa candidature est le 20 juillet.

« C’est un honneur pour le Nouveau-Brunswick de participer aux Jeux de la Francophonie de 2013 », a affirmé le ministre du Développement économique, Paul Robichaud, qui est également ministre responsable de la Francophonie. « Cette manifestation sportive et culturelle internationale revêt une importance particulière pour notre province, car elle nous donne une occasion spéciale de mettre en valeur nos talents artistiques et de célébrer notre patrimoine culturel unique et diversifié. »

Les artistes âgés de 18 à 35 ans peuvent participer au volet culturel des Jeux dans l’une des 11 disciplines suivantes : arts de la rue (marionnettes, jonglerie ou hip hop), peinture, sculpture, chanson, conte, danse de création, littérature (nouvelle), photographie et création numérique.

Les Jeux rassemblent des milliers de jeunes des pays et gouvernements de la Francophonie qui excellent dans des activités sportives ou culturelles. Ils se tiennent tous les quatre ans. Les derniers Jeux ont eu lieu à Beyrouth, au Liban, en 2009.

La délégation canadienne est composée de trois équipes : Canada, Canada-Nouveau-Brunswick et Canada-Québec.

artists who will be in the area July 30 – August 5 for projects to take place during Ok.Quoi?! Contemporary Arts Festival.

Projects can be week-long, durational, site specific, installation, sound, performance, intervention, what-have-you! We are looking
for works that will engage the public and have an impact on the community and the festival.

1. up to 5 images of the proposed project or past work
2. a brief description (max three lines) of your proposed project
3. a detailed description of your proposed project including location requirements and tech rider (max 1 page)
4. a brief bio and your place of residence
5. a curriculum vitae

Call for Artist‐in‐Residence:
Re‐Focus Sustainable Art Submission deadline: June 10, 2012

The environmental impact of urbanization and industrialization has reached a critical point. It is now clear that our relationship to nature has drastically changed over time and that sustainable ways of living are necessary in order to deal with the complexity of the environmental challenges intrinsic to our subsistence; artists continue to fulfill a role of creating new forms of representations that illustrate, embody and propose different ways of understanding our relation to Nature.

Visual Arts Nova Scotia (VANS) in collaboration with the Ecology Action Centre (EAC) and the Khyber Centre for the Arts are hosting an artist‐in‐residency and public presentation of ideas that brings together contemporary artistic practices and current environmental research and engagement.

Description of Residency
The selected artist’s proposal will outline the production of a site‐specific artwork that challenges audiences to re‐ consider the idea of Nature and to explore new representations of ecological thinking. The challenge to the artist(s) will be to create a work that can be considered ecological in itself (and not necessarily the subject of the work.) For example, by considering an artwork’s material or immaterial origin, production process and future sustainability.

The duration of the residency extends for 4‐weeks taking place within the province of Nova Scotia between September and November 2012, (the exact dates are negotiated with artist and committee). The selected artist will be expected to complete the proposed work and to engage with different community groups in his/her process of production and dissemination, including staff and members of EAC and VANS. During the residency, the artist will be encouraged to conduct a manageable number of studio visits with members of VANS.

In the final week of the residency, the artist will present the documentation of their process at the Khyber Centre for Arts in Halifax, NS through exhibition, an artist talk and a master class, and also, engage in organized public discussions on contemporary eco‐art practices and the intersection of contemporary art and environmental practices.

Eligibility
Proposals will be accepted from artists across Canada who have experience in producing art work for public discussion and within professional contexts. Artists submitting must be a current member of Visual Arts Nova Scotia (VANS), even if they are applying from out of province. Please note that artists can attain a VANS membership at the time of application.

Support
A $2000 artist fee will be paid for the 4‐week residency, as well as a small project material stipend and a per diem. Accommodation will be provided as well as any travel necessary in and around Nova Scotia. For such purposes, it would be ideal if the artist had a valid driver’s license.

Submissions
All artistic media is welcome. It is recommended that artists research environmental projects initiated by Ecology Action Centre, current environmental issues, and consider these in their proposed concept and materials, before submitting their proposal.

All submissions must include:
–  A 1‐page proposal detailing the project and referencing supporting research;
–  5 JPG (500 kb max) images of previously completed work related to your proposal and up to 5 digital images of 
the proposed project sketches [or a selection of time‐based work not exceeding an accumulated duration of 10 minutes of previous and proposed work (max)] (CDR or DVD only);
–  A corresponding complete and annotated documentation list (numbered, title, media, date, dimensions, description of support material);
–  CV (3 pages max);
–  An artist statement (500 words max);
–  A project materials budget.
Complete proposals will be reviewed by a peer committee. APPEL: palimpsest PLATFORM: Call to Filmmakers & Video Artists

PLATFORM announces a call for submissions for film + video in response to the theme of the palimpsest. A screening will be presented in conjunction with PLATFORM’s palimpsest year and will take place in the Artspace Building.

Taking our cue from the historical phenomenon of the palimpsest as a scroll or text that is written only to be erased in order to make room for the inscription of new ideas, PLATFORM is currently in a year-long investigation into how photography and its sister media, film and video, can act as contemporary palimpsests or re-writable texts. Winnipeg is a prairie city where you can see a snowstorm coming three days away. The flatness of our location holds with the possibility that we take in not only the periphery but also the past and future. palimpsest, should not be mistaken as a sentimental elucidation about the past. It explores a rhizomatic vision of past, present, and future in various simultaneous possibilities.

The Atlantic Filmmakers extends deadline for the Filmmaker in Residence Program

April 26, 2012, Halifax, NS – The Atlantic Filmmakers Cooperative (AFCOOP) is pleased to announce the call for submissions for the Filmmaker in Residence program has been extended to Monday, June 11, 2012. The program is designed for experienced Maritime based filmmakers who are interested in creating work with the support and participation of AFCOOP and the Halifax film community. A total of $15,000 in cash and services will be provided to the successful applicant for the production of a film twenty-five minutes in length or less.

“The first thee years of the Filmmaker in Residence program were successful beyond our expectations. This last years residency with Eva Madden-Hagen culminated beautifully in a warm screening of her film POSE at THE HALIFAX INDEPENDENT FILMMAKERS FESTIVAL. It was packed and POSE turned into a really good piece of work”, says Chris Spencer-Lowe, Production Coordinator of AFCOOP and Supervising Producer of the Residency. “We really have provided a unique opportunity for direct communication between filmmakers and their communities, as well as great way for experienced filmmakers to create new work.”

Funding for the Filmmaker in Residence includes:

·    Up to $4,000 in cash to offset costs of the project – this may include film stock, lab fees, rentals, per Diems, travel and labour, etc.
·    Up to $11,000 in AFCOOP equipment and facility rentals

No longer reserved for our grandmothers, needlecraft has become a subversive tool of counter-culture, interrogating knowledge and meaning, while encouraging an intimate participation with the digital through a laborious, and social process. Whether it is revealing the underlying relationship between computer coding and embroidery patterns, or documenting the digital landscape through a portrait of cotton cross-stitches, we consider the meaning of “social networks” and participatory production as artists explore collective meaning and ownership in the digital age.

From 15 February to 7 April 2013 the 14th VIDEONALE will be taking place in the Kunstmuseum Bonn. We now invite all artists to apply for VIDEONALE 14 with a single or multi-channel video work.

There are no restrictions on the subject, but the works submitted must be not more than 2 years old, i.e. they must date from 1 Jan 2010 or later.

A jury of international experts will examine the entries and those selected will be  presented in the VIDEONALE in the Kunstmuseum Bonn.

An international prize-jury will select the winner of the VIDEONALE award from the artists whose works are exhibited at VIDEONALE 14.

The VIDEONALE

Founded in 1984, the biennial VIDEONALE today counts as one of the oldest and most renowned festivals of video art in the world. Participants include such trend-setting artists as Dara Birnbaum, Lynn Hershman, Marcel Odenbach, Michael Smith, Bill Viola and others. To this day VIDEONALE sees itself as a festival of national and international video art, both for ambitious young artists and for established artists.

EXHIBITION
At the 14th VIDEONALE between 40 and 50 works, chosen by an international jury of experts, will be presented during a seven-week exhibition in the Kunstmuseum Bonn. They will be supplemented by a curated section of video installations.
FESTIVAL
The numerous events of next year’s programme are meant to tempt visitors to VIDEONALE 14. In addition to the three-day opening programme, a large number of lectures, discussions with artists, screenings, performances, workshops and special presentations about artistic positions will take place during the seven weeks of the exhibition. Another feature of the festival programme is the VIDEONALE Party at the opening weekend.

VIDEONALE ON TOUR
Following the exhibition in the Kunstmuseum Bonn, the works displayed at VIDEONALE 14 will be presented in other international institutions as VIDEONALE ON TOUR. Works from VIDEONALE 13 could be seen at the Re:view Festival at Ars Cameralis in Katowice, Poland, at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA), in Taichung, Taiwan and at the Gallery of Modern Art Glasgow, Scotland.

APPEL A PROJET / Couleur(s) d’automne 2012

Pour la cinquième année, Annemasse Agglo organise Couleur(s) d’automne les 22 et 23 septembre 2012 au Lac de Machilly en Haute-Savoie et renouvelle le Festival Land art et art environnemental.

Articulé autour du concept « entre nature et culture, ce que la nature nous donne, ce que l’homme en fait », le festival s’intégrera à nouveau dans une manifestation pluridisciplinaire, qui accueillera un marché aux plantes, des conférences sur des thématiques environnementales, des ateliers artistiques pour enfants et un salon de lecture.

Couleur(s) d’automne, une exposition monumentale hors les murs, a pour objectif de proposer une ouverture des pratiques culturelles à la population.

Durant 5 jours, les artistes devront créer une œuvre en utilisant pour une part au moins des matériaux trouvés sur place.
Le projet s’adresse aux artistes qui exercent dans le domaine du land art, de l’art éphémère et de l’art environnemental.
La thématique libre est axée sur le concept général de Couleur(s) d’automne, « entre nature et culture, ce que la nature nous donne, ce que l’homme en fait ». Néanmoins le caractère environnemental et écologique de la démarche artistique est un point qui sera examiné lors de la sélection des œuvres.

L’œuvre réalisée sera présentée le temps de l’événement : le week-end des 22 et 23 septembre 2012. Elle sera maintenue sur le site aussi longtemps que son état le permettra et au minimum trois semaines après le festival.

Le montant de la prestation versé pour la création et la réalisation de l’œuvre aux artistes est de 1 000 € TTC. L’accueil, les repas, l’hébergement et une partie des frais de transport seront pris en charge par l’organisateur.

APPEL A PROJET / Centre culturel du Triangle à Rennes

Le quartier
Dans les années 1960, l’architecte Michel Marty imagine de réserver au cœur de la ZUP Sud Le Blosne et de ses logements un espace de qualité à construire après l’arrivée des premiers habitants. Le choix d’établir un équipement socioculturel à cet endroit témoigne de la politique de la Ville, préoccupée par l’espace et la rencontre des habitants autour de propositions culturelles
Le projet et la conception même du bâtiment, confiée à l’architecte Jean Le Berre, sont le fruit d’une concertation entre la Ville et la population. Dès son ouverture en 1985, le Centre culturel du Triangle offre aux habitants une programmation artistique, une bibliothèque municipale, des activités de pratique artistique et un espace de rencontre. L’équipement compte une galerie pour les expositions, une salle de spectacle, une salle polyvalente et des salles destinées aux ateliers (musique, danse, arts plastiques).
Aujourd’hui, le terme de « ZUP Sud » a laissé la place à celui de « quartier du Blosne ». La Ville de Rennes a engagé un nouveau projet pour le quartier*, visant à lui donner plus d’intensité urbaine et à favoriser l’implantation des entreprises, la création d’emplois, et la construction de nouveaux logements. Les espaces verts seront également revalorisés (http://blosne.rennes-blog.org/). Créé à l’initiative de la Ville, l’atelier urbain accueille les visiteurs à quelques pas de l’entrée du Triangle. L’objectif est d’associer tous les acteurs afin que le projet du Blosne prenne en compte le mieux possible les enjeux culturels, économiques, sociaux et environnementaux du quartier.

Le  Centre culturel du Triangle

Le Triangle mène une action reconnue dans les domaines de la littérature, de la danse et des arts plastiques. Le projet artistique sensibilise les publics à des œuvres contemporaines et accompagne le travail d’artistes émergents ou confirmés.
Les transformations en cours au Blosne incitent Le Triangle à penser sa place dans le quartier, et à ouvrir ses espaces, notamment ceux offerts aux arts plastiques. Jusqu’ici exposées dans la galerie et le puits de lumière, les œuvres s’inviteront bientôt dans tous les espaces, intérieurs comme extérieurs, et se déploieront dans le quartier à la rencontre des habitants.

Les espaces du Triangle sont vastes (cf documents photo et vidéo joints), citons les principaux : esplanade devant l’entrée principale, Puits de lumière du hall d’accueil (plutôt pour des œuvres en 2D, pouvant être installées sur la cimaise blanche), jardins extérieurs (jardin en terrasse sur le toit au dessus de l’entrée principale, jardins de la ville, chemins et mare au bord de la halle), halle couverte de 3000 m2, galerie.

Le Triangle accueille ponctuellement des congrès ou des séminaires d’une durée de quelques jours. Le hall d’accueil étant un lieu de passage, on doit pouvoir y circuler et y accueillir le public lors des soirées de spectacles. L’espace du Puits de lumière pourra donc être investit principalement avec des œuvres en 2D, le volume de cet espace n’étant disponible que sous réserve du planning des congrès.

Résidences d’artistes
Depuis plusieurs années, le Triangle a mis en place des résidences d’auteurs, de danseurs et de chorégraphes. Il souhaite aujourd’hui également accueillir des artistes plasticiens, afin de leur permettre de développer leur démarche et de créer des œuvres in situ. Il leur est proposé de réfléchir à une œuvre prenant en compte le contexte culturel, social, architectural et paysager du Triangle. Cette œuvre peut, sur le principe, être éphémère ou bien pérenne. Ils pourront associer leur démarche aux œuvres préexistantes (Les jardins Agitato*, de Roberto Martinez), aux projets présentés en littérature et en danse, ainsi qu’au temps fort du festival Agitato.

La galerie présentera d’autres réalisations antérieures de l’artiste, ainsi que des documents témoignant du travail en cours (vidéo, photos, textes). Ces différents points de vues permettront au public d’approcher le processus de création inhérent à la recherche artistique. Cette exposition se poursuivra pendant quelques semaines après la résidence de l’artiste. Celui-ci pourra accueillir le  public dans la galerie comme dans un atelier, et échanger avec lui.

Des actions de médiation seront mises en place pour faire découvrir l’œuvre et la démarche dont elle découle (rencontres, atelier, conférence). Elles s’adressent en particulier au public du quartier, aux écoles et aux adhérents des ateliers de pratique artistique.

*  Les jardins Agitato, 2009. Proposition de Roberto Martinez pour le festival Agitato. Démarche qui invite le public dans un projet du Triangle hors les murs, et consiste à se réapproprier l’espace public, ici des parcelles confiées aux habitants, opération reconduite en 2010, 2011 et 2012. Voir photo fournie.

Calendrier
Trois résidences auront lieu pendant la saison 2012-2013, chacune d’une durée de 4 à 5 semaines :
1ère période : 15 novembre – 21 décembre 2012
Espaces pressentis : Puits de lumière (œuvres en 2D), halle couverte (3000 m2).

2ème période : 15 avril – 25 mai 2013
Espaces pressentis : jardins extérieurs, mare, espaces verts surplombant l’entrée.
Le festival Agitato, qui présente des propositions dans les domaines de la danse, de la littérature et des arts plastiques, a lieu du 22 au 25 mai. Le vernissage aura lieu pendant le festival. Le programme vous sera annoncé dès qu’il sera connu, des informations sur le contenu sont déjà disponibles.

3ème période : 25 mai – 10 juillet 2012
Espaces pressentis : Puits de lumière, abords du Triangle, bâtiments du quartier.

Accueil des artistes

L’artiste percevra une rémunération artistique de 2000 €, ainsi qu’un per diem de 15 €.
Les frais de production de l’œuvre sont pris en charge par le Triangle sur présentation des factures, pour un montant maximum de 2000 €. Le Triangle met à la disposition de l’artiste un logement équipé situé dans les locaux, avec accès Internet. 2 à 3 allers-retours entre la résidence de l’artiste et le Triangle seront défrayés, ainsi que les transports liés aux interventions de l’auteur dans la métropole rennaise. Le Triangle prendra en charge le transport des œuvres exposées dans la galerie, ainsi que les frais de la soirée de vernissage. La convention de résidence détaillera le projet d’œuvre et les temps d’action en direction du public.
Projet
Vous êtes invité à adresser au Triangle une note d’intention d’une cinquantaine de lignes décrivant la démarche que vous mettrez en œuvre, et comment vous envisagez de vous saisir des enjeux propres au Triangle, à ses espaces et à son inscription dans le quartier. We live in a unique moment in history, between two rapidly changing worlds. One is the world of decaying political and economic structures and the other is the world of an infinite explosion in technology and information. There are conflicting mindsets in every part of our culture: the contradiction between ubiquitous virtual presence and physical presence creating an identity crisis; the non-hierarchical, organic web structure clashing with hierarchical, non-organic real-world structures; the myth of the individual as a genius vs the power of the crowd and the collaborative practice; the passive and observant attitude set against active participation and co-creation. These opposing forces are placing us in a paradoxical state that we have named Unfinity.

Unfinity is a pull between these poles, a hybrid space. It’s timeless and uncertain. We believe that to ease the state of Unfinity in a human and meaningful way it is crucial to be creative, to experiment, to challenge and take action.

Alpha-ville 2012 invites artists, designers, thinkers, digital and non-digital people to consider, participate in, create and express what will be the next steps for building an alternative future that, we hope, will belong to the people.

Interactivos?’12 Ljubljana: Obsolete Technologies of the Future
Ljudmila = ljubljana digital media lab seeks proposals for its first ever intensive and mind-blowing workshop on Interactivos?’12: Ljubljana for art & tech & scientists professionals. Ljubljana’s edition of the workshop will be dedicated to explorations of Obsolete Technologies of the Future, collaborative prototyping vol. 1, rethinking the qualities of outdated technology and making way for a long-term, sustainable usage of technology in our environment in the decades to come.

Interactivos?’12 Ljubljana will enable participants to build prototypes in the fields of art and technology. We are interested in receiving proposals that explore the potential of technological solutions on the aesthetic or practical level. Having in mind that anyone who aims at being contemporary is already dated, we are especially interested in submissions which make use of existing or outdated technologies in an entirely unexpected way to encourage novel approaches, promote sustainability, and explore possibilities in the far future. The outdated technologies have not been pushed aside and rendered insignificant merely for pragmatic, but also for economic and political reasons. The topic suggests – but is not limited to – dealing with increasing lack of natural resources, and ecological questions in urban environments and overlooked technologies of the past. It could also be connected to media hacking and subverting the automatism of the behaviour in the society, suggesting new forms of social networking that are not dependent on existing corporative hierarchies.
Alongside artworks, innovative installations, collaborative practices, we will also encourage thinking differently about how we set up products and services for our demands and everyday living. A glimpse into the past makes us understand the reasons behind technological development and what role art plays in promoting or challenging the existing modes of behaviour. Is it possible for an artwork to hack the system from within? Is it possible to think outside of our mindframes? To think outside of the binary code? To view the world in nano scale? To explore our perception beyond the virtual and the real? To imagine moving fast without an exhaust engine? To explore how the web should operate? To turn off  and tune in?

Orientation of the projects
Suggested areas of focus include:
•    Projects that suggest different usages of existing urban technological infrastructures
•    Rethinking outdated technologies and recycling the computer and IT wasteland.
•    Projects which allow people to interact with technology to provoke new ways of perceiving the surrounding, the self, the visual, the material, and stimulate aesthetic experience.
•    Particular attention will be paid to projects which promote open source communities, collaborative work and collective modes of behavior.
•    Playing with data – submissions for works, which connect data forms and physically embody data streams, bridging ‘on’ and ‘off’ line worlds.
•    Products and services that provide sustainable solutions for our needs, including the use of open data, data mash ups and remixes.
We are seeking proposals for:
•    Installations (interactive, responsive, generative)
•    Performances (participatory, gesticular, dance)
•    Visualisations (moving images, generative, projections, holograms)
•    Free Software (FLOSS) / Open Hardware / Open Design / Services / Start-ups / Apps / Devices

Submission Guidelines:
From among the submissions received a maximum of 6 projects will be selected to be produced in a two-week workshop at Ljudmila in September 2012. The chosen projects will be developed with the aid of several advisors and assistants in addition to a large group of collaborators.

The open call is aimed at designers, artists, engineers, coders, sociologists, architects, city planners, teachers, programmers, psychologists, journalists, environmentalists, or to any other person interested in the theme of the workshop.

Proposals may be presented by individuals or groups. Each participant or team may present as many projects as they wish.

Selected projects must be open to the participation of other interested collaborators who will be able to contribute to the production of the pieces during the development of the workshop.

Therefore, there are two levels of involvement in the workshop:
1 – as a project leader
2 – as a collaborator in any one of the selected projects
Once the projects have been selected, the second step in the process will involve a new call for those people who would like to participate in the production of the projects. The call for collaborators will be open from 2 July 2012 at Medialab-Prado’s website.

General Information of the Workshop
The Interactivos?’12 Ljubljana workshop aims to be a collective platform for research, production, and learning, offering support in developing the selected projects. The projects will be carried out in multidisciplinary groups comprised of the project leaders joined by interested collaborators, with conceptual and technical advice from the advisors. Ljudmila, Medialab-Prado and SGMK will provide materials for the development of selected projects, as much as possible.

During the workshop, various activities will be scheduled, such as talks, presentations, seminars or specific mini-workshops. Work days will be adapted to the specific needs of the projects in conjunction with the activities ongoing at Ljudmila.
Opening hours: 10 am – 8 pm

Given that the main objectives of the workshop are to foster the development, distribution, and free access to new approaches and new technology tools, participants are encouraged to prepare proper documentation for the developed projects, both during and after the workshop, and to publish the results and source code under licenses that grant access and distribution of the knowledge produced during the workshop.

Technical Requirements
The evaluation team will assess submitted projects for technical feasibility – successful projects should have clearly specified technical and spatial requirements. Should the evaluation team have doubts about any technical requirements, they will contact the authors of the proposal.

Projects will be carried out and presented at Ljudmila. Ljudmila will provide basic equipment and the means to produce the selected projects, pending prior application from the proposal’s author(s). Access and use of Ljudmila’s technical equipment will be supervised by a coordinator from the space. Expenses for material or equipment not planned for or approved in advance will not be covered by the organisers (Ljudmila, Medialab-Prado and SGMK), but will be the expense of the project leaders. The organisers will provide Web hosting as needed for the projects and also the tools and platforms required by participants to properly document the process and the results.

Ljudmila, Medialab-Prado and SGMK promote the use of free software tools and encourage participants of the workshop to work with shared and open code applications and environments.

Travel and Lodging Aid
Pending final approval of the submitted project’s application, Ljudmila and Medialab-Prado will provide lodging for participants residing outside of Ljubljana and will cover travel expenses to Ljubljana. In the case of collectives, Ljudmila and Medialab-Prado will cover travel expenses for just one member of the group.

Final Decision

Project Promotion
The finished projects will be presented to the public by their developers on the final day of the workshop. In addition, the projects and/or related documentation will be published on Ljudmila, Medialab-Prado, SGMK and Studiolabproject.eu websites.

Obligations
The developers of selected projects agree to attend the workshop from 5 to 15 September 2012 and to finish and document their projects, as much as possible during this time.
Projects carried out will be the property of their author(s), although whenever said-projects are shown at festivals or exhibits, and whenever images of said-projects are reproduced in catalogues or websites, their relation with the Interactivos? workshop carried out at Ljudmila should be acknowledged and the names of the people who collaborated in developing the projects should also be credited. The projects exhibited may be shown in Ljudmila, Medialab-Prado, SGMK and Studiolab’s website and printed catalogues.

DÉFINITION DU PROGRAMME DE RÉSIDENCE
La résidence a pour mission d’accueillir des artistes et des écrivains étrangers qui ont un projet artistique / littéraire spécifique à développer à Paris. Dans les domaines des arts visuels et des arts de la scène, le projet doit être mené de préférence en liaison avec une institution partenaire ou une structure, ou une compagnie, ou un artiste, identifiés sur Paris et son agglomération, dans le domaine de la littérature, il doit s’inscrire dans un projet de recherche. Il doit se dérouler sur place en harmonie avec la ville d’accueil et son environnement culturel. Ce séjour, qui est pour l’artiste un moment privilégié de réflexion et de création, contribuera à la visibilité de la scène artistique internationale à Paris.

PROFIL DES CANDIDATS
Le programme des Récollets s’adresse aux artistes et écrivains à titre individuel.

Les candidats doivent :

– être engagés dans une pratique professionnelle d’un minimum de 5 ans,
– justifier de travaux antérieurs et d’un parcours professionnel déjà significatif,
– parler français ou anglais,
– se libérer de leurs activités professionnelles durant la période de résidence.

MODALITÉS ET CRITÈRES DE SÉLECTION
La sélection est effectuée par une commission consultative composée de professionnels des disciplines concernées. Une attention particulière sera portée sur la qualité du projet artistique, sur la nécessité du séjour et sur le protocole de travail envisagé. Un artiste ayant déjà bénéficié d’un accueil dans le cadre du programme des Récollets ne pourra pas représenter un nouveau projet avant 3 ans.

DURÉE DE LA RÉSIDENCE
3 mois consécutifs sans interruption. Les séjours se dérouleront de janvier à décembre 2013. Il est rappelé l’importance de séjourner aux Récollets durant ces trois mois et de limiter au maximum les déplacements à l’étranger durant sa résidence.

NATURE DE L’AIDE
L’Institut français français prend en charge une allocation de séjour forfaitaire mensuelle de 1 500 €. Cette allocation doit couvrir les frais de restauration, de séjour, les frais de transports locaux, etc.
La Ville de Paris prend en charge la location des ateliers logements à la Résidence des Récollets pour la durée du séjour.
Les ateliers/logements ne sont pas adaptés aux familles et les animaux sont interdits.
Le lauréat doit obligatoirement contracter une assurance maladie et rapatriement avant son séjour à Paris. Le voyage aller/retour reste à la charge du lauréat.

Projects and production residencies – PACT Zollverein, Essen, Germany

From January to June 2013 PACT Zollverein is offering a residency programme for the development and realisation of projects and productions, which is open to professional artists from Germany and abroad working in the fields of dance, media art or music. Residencies are planned individually and include a working space and local accommodation as well as financial support in the form of a weekly grant allowance and travel costs. By arrangement and subject to requirement, PACT Zollverein also offers its residents technical support and advisory assistance with press and public relations and dramaturgy.

Thanks to the support of the Ministry for Families, Children, Youth, Culture and Sports of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, residency recipients are able to receive a grant to cover their living expenses and travel costs.

Women’s Artist Residency at MAWA, Winnipeg, Canada (Deadline: June 29th, 2012, 4pm)

MAWA is offering our urban, loft-style apartment to women visual artists living outside of Winnipeg for residencies of 2-4 weeks in duration. Applicants can use this space and time for research, reflection, networking and/or production.

We will provide free accommodation.The MAWA apartment is fully furnished and includes a kitchen, a bathroom with shower, a double bed, a double futon/couch and a designated parking space. All linens and cooking utensils are provided. The apartment is located on the second floor of 611 Main Street in downtown Winnipeg. Sadly, it is a walk-up and is not wheelchair accessible.
MAWA’s apartment is a clean space that is not conducive for painting and many forms of sculpture. However, we will work with you and other Winnipeg art centres to help you gain access to the facilities and resources you need. These could include a rough studio, printmaking, video and darkroom facilities, or introductions to likeminded artists and curators.

While at MAWA, we ask that you present your work to our members in a form of your choice (screening, talk, performance, showcase of work-in-progress, etc.). In return, we will pay you a $300 artist fee.
Artists at all stages of their careers are encouraged to apply. Equal consideration will be given to emerging and established artists. Rural Manitoba artists are especially encouraged. Imagine an urban retreat!

Résidence Suddenly est une résidence d’artistes annuelle d’une durée de deux à quatre semaines. Ses objectifs et son format varient d’une année à l’autre. Ce principe d’expérimentations et de laboratoire constitue la base du projet.

Camille Debray et Laurent Isnard, issus des Beaux Arts de Nice puis Cergy et Paris, fondent cette résidence en 2010 dans la maison de campagne familiale située à cent kilomètres de Paris en Seine-et-Marne.

La résidence accueille des artistes internationaux aux pratiques très variées : volume, installation, performance, vidéo, peinture. Des théoriciens, des critiques d’art, des commissaires d’exposition sont également présents lors de la résidence. Cette cohabitation et ces rencontres permettent d’explorer des formes et des méthodes de recherche considérant les rapports singuliers qu’entretiennent pratique et théorie dans l’art contemporain.

Atelier Topaz – résidence
Opasatika, Ontario, Canada
Le lieu
Situés au cœur de la forêt boréale, les Ateliers Topaz sont à la fois un lieu de retraite et un centre de création pour artistes, toutes disciplines confondues. L’endroit parfait pour la réflexion, l’évasion. Le groupement d’édifices fait 900 mètres carrés et repose sur 14 hectares face à la route Transcanadienne. Il donne sur un étang de deux hectares. Topaz c’est la « Route 66 » dans le nord de l’Ontario. L’endroit, modeste et nostalgique, rappelle aussi les grandes épopées de la colonisation francophone de l’Ontario. Ces studios de création ou cette résidence d’artistes, endroit idéal pour les arts visuels, sont situés au centre du Canada, à mi-chemin entre l’Atlantique et le Pacifique, là où les étoiles deviennent les topazes de la nuit.
Ce qu’on offre
D’abord l’espace et, l’espace de travail déterminés selon les besoins de l’artiste. Les espaces polyvalents permettent d’y faire de la peinture, de la sculpture, de l’installation, etc. L’atelier de menuiserie, le Bar à clou, est équipé des outils de base. Un magasin d’objets trouvés est disponible autant pour l’inspiration que pour l’utilisation dans une œuvre. Le peintre apporte ses pinceaux, le musicien son instrument et l’écrivain son ordi.

Les personnes qui séjournent aux Ateliers Topaz jouissent de l’accès à la cuisine et sont responsables de préparer leurs repas. Toutefois Laurent peut aussi leur cuisiner de petits plats typiquement canadiens-français aux besoins ou aux désirs. 

Topaz possède deux suites avec lit double et une chambre avec lit simple. Chacune possède sa salle de toilette avec douche. Ces installations évoquent admirablement le style des années 1960. 

Pour la baignade, le Lac des Cœurs se situe à deux kilomètres à l’est. Pour le canotage ou la pèche, la rivière Opasatika est deux kilomètres à l’ouest. Pour se déplacer, il y a de vieux vélos ou la marche. Pour un frais très raisonnable, votre hôte peut aussi vous conduire ou organiser un déplacement vers Kapuskasing à l’est ou vers Hearst à l’ouest. 

Les matériaux d’artistes ne sont pas disponibles dans la région. Il est donc important de faire vos achats avant votre séjour, à moins que vous travailliez avec des matériaux que l’on peut se procurer dans des magasins ordinaires ou même en nature.

Residence Support Program (Japan): trans_2012-2013
The prefix ‘trans’ means to go beyond, get across, cross, exchange, change and convert. The Residence Program provides a time and place for artists to experience new encounters and carry out experiments to guide their their future projects. We hope that the residence program at Akiyoshidai International Art Village becomes a space for artists to go beyond cultural borders and expand their outlooks, exchange their unique understandings and establish relationships with fellow artists.

On-going Light- Work Int’l Artist-In-Residence Program, photography & digital media

Each year Light Work invites 12-15 artists to participate in its residency program, including one artist co-sponsored by Autograph ABP. Artists selected for the residency program are invited to live in Syracuse for one month. They receive a $4,000 stipend, an apartment to stay in, a private digital studio, a private darkroom, and 24-hour access to our facility.

Participants in the residency program are expected to use their month to pursue their own projects: photographing in the area, printing for a specific project or book, and so on. Artists are not obligated to teach at our facility, though we hope that the artists are friendly and accessible to local artists. Work produced by the Artists-in-Residence will also be published in Light Work’s publication Contact Sheet.

Our color-managed digital imaging lab features Macintosh workstations equipped with flatbed and film scanners. Output options include Epson 9900, 9800, and 4880 printers that can render continuous gray-scale and color prints onto a broad variety of materials. Artists use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Macromedia Director Studio, Flash, Dreamweaver, Adobe Premiere, DVD Studio Pro software packages, iLife, and more programs. In addition, our traditional lab facility can accommodate just about any black and white process from alternative processes to mural printing.

Light Work supports artists working in photography and related media. Through our partnership with the Urban Video Project, we can also provide some direct support to video artists.

HOW TO APPLY
All artists working in photography and related media are eligible to apply to the Light Work Artist-in-Residence program. There is no application form or deadline.
Artists should submit the following:
Letter of intent, describing plans for residency
Current resume, including exhibition record
Artist statement
Around twenty images (slides, proof prints, or disk) of your most recent work or current project, plus any supporting material you feel would be appropriate in evaluating your application
Postage for the return of materials, or note to discard material after review process (international artists can include credit card information for return postage)
If you are submitting individual image files, please size the images at 2MB or less per image. Images can be sent as Tiff or JPEG files. PDF or Powerpoint presentations are equally acceptable and may exceed the 2MB file size. If possible please also send a printout of thumbnails or one or two proof prints. Please do not send books or brochures unless you are providing adequate return postage.

While we do not want to discourage anyone from applying, we are primarily interested in artists who are seriously involved with the medium of photography, and who clearly understand their intentions as an artist.

Klaustrid (the Monastery) is a residence for artists, writers and scholars, Icelandic or foreign. The residence is managed by The Institute of Gunnar Gunnarsson. It includes a small apartment and workroom in the unique farmhouse, Skriduklaustur, which was built in 1939 by the famous Icelandic writer Gunnar Gunnarsson.
Skriduklaustur is in the Fljotsdalur valley in East Iceland, about 40 km to the nearest town (see map). Those who are interested in applying for a stay at Skriduklaustur can send an application to the following address but the coming year is formally advertised in May (please send applications before June 15th). Since 1999, the Camac Art Center, with Fondation Ténot, has aimed to promote creativity and international exchange in the artistic community. camac and Fondation Ténot offer three residency bursaries each year to one visual artist, one writer and one musician or composer in order to create new career prospects for artists.

Camac is located sixty minutes away from Paris in the village of Marnay sur Seine in the scenic region of Champagne-Ardenne. This multi-disciplinary, creative centre offers a unique environment for visual artists, writers or musicians. camac aims at fostering communication and creativity among individuals and groups working on the evolution of ideas or realization of works.

From 12 July through 25 August, 2012, IZOLYATSIA – Platform for Cultural Initiatives in Donetsk (Ukraine) will hold its third annual artists-in-residence program. We are now accepting proposals from artists wanting to explore the notion of moving image via the prism of a determined research theme. Artists working in all media (including performance and text) are welcome to apply. Although moving image is the starting point, final projects do not need to conform to moving-image as a form of video-art. The residency is both process- and outcome- oriented. Six artists-in-residence will work closely with the curators – Agnieszka Pindera and Victoria Ivanova – on their individual and/or collective projects and the residency will culminate in an exhibition on the IZOLYATSIA territory (in 2013).

Encouraging the interaction of art, design and culture with the local environment, Creatives in residence welcome 30 international artists, designers, writers and creative people to enter in contact with Zhejiang, its cultural, economical, and natural resources, developing art and design works, reflecting on global economic processes as well as appreciating Chinese traditional culture.
A peculiar landscape characterizes Zhejiang: an incredible concentration of factories as well as huge extensions of green lands and abundance of water. One of the most industrial areas of China is at the same time one of the richest of natural parks, forests and lakes. Many of these landscapes are the ones that inspired the most famous artists and writers in the past centuries in China and still have great influence on the special relation with Chinese traditional culture that you can breathe here.
Participants are provided with up to three week accommodation and studios, where they can free their creativity in contact with local resources, typical materials of the area, as paper, bamboo, fabrics …

Droit de suite : encore une occasion manquée pour les artistes

Ottawa, mardi le 29 mai, 2012 – Trois ventes aux enchères tenues au cours des deux derniers semaines ont engendré des ventes d’œuvres d’art produites par 32 artistes canadiens vivants pour un montant total de 1,501,593 dollars. Ces ventes ont profité à bien du monde… sauf aux artistes eux-mêmes. Les associations pancanadienne et québécoise représentant les artistes en arts visuels (CARFAC et le RAAV) ont demandé au gouvernement de remédier à cette anomalie en introduisant dans la Loi sur le droit d’auteur le droit de suite, tel que cela a été fait dans déjà 59 pays. En effet, si le Canada avait instauré le droit de suite en y associant des redevances à hauteur de 5 % du prix de vente, ces artistes auraient touché ensemble un total de 75,080 dollars.

Par exemple, le vendredi 25 mai, quatre œuvres de l’artiste ontarien et membre de l’ordre du Canada, David Blackwood, ont été vendues chez Joyner Waddington’s, dont la toile Ephraim Kelloways Red Door, qui a trouvé preneur à 64 900 $, soit plus du double du prix de vente estimé. Si les artistes canadiens avaient un droit de suite de 5 %, David Blackwood aurait obtenu un versement de 3 717 $ pour la vente de ses quatre œuvres.

L’institution du droit de suite permettrait aux artistes de recevoir 5 % du produit des ventes subséquentes de leurs œuvres par l’intermédiaire de maisons d’enchères et de galeries commerciales. Les œuvres d’art prennent généralement de la valeur avec le temps, au fur et à mesure que la réputation de l’artiste se consolide.

CARFAC et le RAAV poursuivent leur démarche de rencontres avec des députés en vue de promouvoir l’intégration du droit de suite à la Loi sur le statut de l’artiste. Les réactions continuent d’être positives ; toutefois, nous sommes toujours en attente d’un engagement de la part du gouvernement.

Résumé informatif :
Le droit de suite fut introduit en France in 1920 ; aujourd’hui, 59 pays autour du monde ont enchâssé ce droit dans leur législation, y compris tous ceux de l’Union européenne. À l’origine, les professionnels européens de l’art s’inquiétaient des retombées potentielles du droit de suite ; toutefois, une étude indépendante menée au Royaume-Uni en 2007 a établi que 87 % des acteurs du marché ont déclaré que la mise en œuvre du droit de suite en 2006 n’a pas eu pour eux de conséquences négatives.

Dans la plupart des pays, le taux de la redevance du droit de suite s’élève à 2 à 5 % du prix de revente. À titre de comparaison, les maisons d’enchères canadiennes facturent aux vendeurs une commission allant de 10 à 25% en plus de la commission à l’achat de 15 à 20 % ajoutée à la soumission gagnante.

Par ailleurs, une étude du ministère du Patrimoine canadien effectuée en 1999 a révélé que près de 97 % des ventes secondaires ont lieu dans des maisons d’enchères d’envergure telles que Sotheby’s et Christies, qui ont déjà l’expérience du droit de suite dans d’autres pays où elles ont des activités.

Une nouvelle directrice pour arca

Le président de la Conférence des collectifs et des centres d’artistes autogérés (ARCA), M. Todd Janes, est heureux d’annoncer la nomination de la nouvelle directrice, Mme Anne Bertrand.
Depuis plus de vingt ans, Anne Bertrand est active dans le milieu des arts visuels. Durant les dernières huit années, elle s’est consacrée à la coordination du centre d’artistes Skol. Durant ce temps, elle a mené à terme plusieurs projets de programmation et d’édition dont certains à titre de commissaire. Elle a aussi contribué au développement du secteur éducatif et assuré la réalisation du traitement du fonds d’archives historique du Centre. Son passage à Skol aura aussi été marqué par une approche organisationnelle adaptée au soutien des pratiques inclassables et à leurs modes de diffusion toujours changeant. Elle a travaillé au Centre d’information Artexte à deux reprises, d’abord de 1993 à 1995 à titre de chargé de projet, et encore de 2001 à 2004, à titre d’adjointe à la direction après un détour de quelques années du côté des secteurs privé et communautaire. Depuis 2006, elle est membre fondatrice de Viva! Art action, une biennale internationale d’art performance qui regroupe plusieurs centres d’artistes de la région de Montréal. En 2009-2010, elle a siégé au conseil d’administration du RCAAQ et participé au comité responsable de la planification du colloque Les Nouvelles Alliances, rencontre sur le développement international. Elle a obtenu son diplôme en arts visuels de l’Université d’Ottawa en 1986 et continue de faire de l’art. .
Mme Bertrand entrera en fonction le ler août prochain. Elle prendra la relève de Mme Gauthier qui a récemment accepté le poste de directrice et conservatrice en chef du Musée d’art de Joliette. ARCA se réjouit de cette nomination puisqu’en choisissant Mme Gauthier, le musée reconnaît l’importance des valeurs organisationnelles des centres d’artistes, soit l’auto-détermination, le sens de la communauté et de l’équité, la confiance en les personnes ainsi que le soutien aux artistes.
Au nom du conseil d’administration, le président Todd Janes offre ses remerciements les plus sincères à Mme Gauthier pour le travail accompli et souhaite une chaleureuse bienvenue à Mme Bertrand.
